RC Deportivo La Coruña 1 - 1 Real Betis Balompié — Highlights & Result

Real Betis finished fifth in the Primera Division last season, landing well above a Deportivo side that now finds itself fighting for traction on matchday 7 of this 20 September 2026 encounter. The hosts began the day seventh in the standings with nine points from six matches, while Real Betis sat fourth with fifteen points after registering five wins in their first six outings.

Deportivo pressed for an opener through a volume of attempts, but it was Real Betis who broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute when C. Hernandez converted from a pass by N. Deossa. The visitors stood firm behind goalkeeper Álvaro Valles, whose 8.3 rating underpinned their defensive resistance against a relentless home attack. Just as Real Betis looked set to claim another victory to add to a run where they had scored in ten consecutive matches across all competitions, Deportivo finally broke through late in the day. In the 87th minute, D. Villares found the net with an assist from M. Soriano, earning a share of the spoils and a 7.9 rating that matched his teammate's influential display.

The draw halts Real Betis's four-match winning streak across all competitions, though it is still enough to lift them from fourth to third in the table. Real Betis now sit five points behind league leaders Barça in a twenty-team division. Meanwhile, Deportivo remain eleventh in the table, now sitting eleven points adrift of the summit.
