Nottingham Forest FC 0 - 1 Arsenal FC — Highlights & Result

Recent meetings between Nottingham Forest and Arsenal have heavily favoured the visitors, with Arsenal taking victory in four of their previous six encounters since 2023, including a 3-0 win here in November 2024. Nottingham found themselves struggling near the foot of the table after managing just one win from their opening six fixtures, while their home struggles continued as they sought a first victory on their own turf this term. Arsenal arrived having tasted defeat just once in six outings, though their away record had shown mixed results with two wins and one loss on the road.

Despite holding just twenty-six percent possession, the hosts registered fourteen shots compared to Arsenal's nine, though both sides struggled for accuracy with only two and one shots on target respectively. The breakthrough finally arrived in the eightieth minute when Noni Madueke turned the ball home with an assist from Declan Rice, who earned the game's highest rating of 7.7. Gabriel Magalhães also stood out for the visitors with a rating of 7.5, helping anchor a defence that restricted Nottingham to an expected goals total of 0.79 against Arsenal's 1.09.

The narrow scoreline proved enough to lift Arsenal from third to second in the table, moving them three points behind leaders Manchester City, who sit on twenty-one points. For Nottingham, the defeat leaves them sixteenth in the standings and sixteen points adrift of the summit.

Arsenal now turn their attention to a trip to Bayern on October 21, while Nottingham travel to face Ipswich Town on October 23.
