Nottingham Forest FC 0 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur FC — Highlights & Result

Nottingham Forest extended a tough sequence on matchday 3 as a scoreless stalemate stretched their winless run across all competitions to six games. Despite registering twelve shots and forcing the visitors' defence to work, the hosts could not find a breakthrough, leaving them with one point from their opening three outings. The stalemate dropped Nottingham Forest to sixteenth place in the standings, while Tottenham earned their first point of the league term to climb off the foot of the table into seventeenth.

Both sides arrived at this Premier League fixture looking for a spark after difficult starts and previous struggles in this fixture. Nottingham Forest had finished sixteenth last season with forty-four points, just one place above Tottenham, who accumulated forty-one points. Recent history between the clubs had favoured the home side significantly, including a 3-0 victory for Nottingham Forest in March 2026, but neither team could establish dominance on the pitch this time. Tottenham enjoyed fifty-nine percent possession and edged the expected goals metric at 1.06 to 0.92, though they failed to register a single shot on target.

Individual efforts stood out amidst the quiet scoreline, with Sandro Tonali earning a standout 7.7 rating for the visitors and Jair posting a 7.5 for the hosts. The result leaves the league table led by Manchester City on nine points, with Nottingham Forest now trailing the summit by seven points and Tottenham sitting eight points back.

Looking ahead to their next fixtures on September 12, Nottingham Forest will travel to play away at Aston Villa.
