FC Internazionale Milano find themselves tumbling down the 36-team UEFA Champions League table to 28th place following a dramatic seven-goal encounter on October 13, 2026. With zero points from their opening two matches and a goal difference of minus one, the Nerazzurri sit six points behind early leaders Barça. Meanwhile, Club Brugge capitalized fully on their trip to Italy, jumping from 22nd to 18th in the standings and now trailing the summit by just three points.
Both clubs arrived at matchday 2 looking to ignite their European fortunes after difficult starts. Inter entered the fixture unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions, a run that included a high-scoring five-goal home victory against Udinese. Club Brugge made the journey searching for a spark, having gone three matches without a win in all competitions despite managing to score in five consecutive outings prior to this night.
An extraordinary individual performance lit up the pitch as Nicolo Tresoldi delivered a standout display, earning a 9.3 rating for the visitors after netting a hat-trick with goals in the 30th minute from the penalty spot, the 63rd minute following a Carlos Forbs assist, and the 74th minute. Lautaro Martínez matched that 9.3 rating for the hosts, striking in the 44th minute assisted by Federico Dimarco and again in the 81st minute. Carlos Forbs added another assist for Club Brugge to set up Romeo Vermant in the 87th minute, while Ange-Yoan Bonny collected a 7.9 rating for Inter after converting an Aleksandar Stankovic assist in added time to round off the scoring.
Inter will now turn their attention away from Europe to resume domestic duties when they play away at Bologna on October 17. Club Brugge face a quick turnaround before their next fixture at home against RC Lens on October 21.
