Lazio continued an impressive scoring run that now stretches to five matches thanks to goals from M. Zaccagni and T. Noslin, with N. Tavares providing an assist. The visitors rode their luck slightly when John Yeboah missed a penalty in the 17th minute, but goalkeeper Christos Mandas delivered an exceptional performance to earn an 8.9 rating and keep a clean sheet. At the other end, Venezia FC saw Akor Adams stand out with a 7.7 rating, but despite managing 17 total shots and outperforming their opponents in expected goals, the hosts failed to find the back of the net.
This latest setback extended a painful sequence for Venezia FC, who are now without a win in six matches across all competitions. Their early season struggles left them rooted at the bottom of the Serie A table with zero points after four matches, having suffered a 2-3 home defeat to Juventus during their recent slump. Meanwhile, Lazio arrived on the back of five unbeaten outings, a sequence that included a 2-1 away victory against Udinese. That strong start propelled them into the upper reaches of the standings, building on a previous meeting between the clubs that ended in a 3-1 victory for Lazio.
Following this result, Lazio moved up to third place in the table with 13 points, while Venezia FC remained anchored in twentieth position. The historical head-to-head record between these two clubs now stands at one win for Lazio and a single draw from their encounters since 2024, with Venezia FC still searching for their first victory in this fixture. Venezia FC are now 13 points behind the table leaders Roma.
