FC Kobenhavn and Bayer 04 Leverkusen played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their opening fixture of the UEFA Champions League group stage on September 18, 2025. Both sides showed plenty of attacking intent throughout the high-tempo encounter, but neither could find a decisive breakthrough to claim all three points.
The stalemate leaves both clubs with a single point after matchday one in Europe's premier club competition. While the result offers a solid foundation to build upon, each team will view this opening fixture as a missed opportunity to gain an early advantage in the race for the knockout stages.
Looking ahead, Kobenhavn and Leverkusen will need to quickly refocus as the demanding UEFA Champions League campaign continues. With tougher tests ahead in the group, both sides must translate these promising opening performances into victories if they hope to secure a top-tier finish and advance deeper into the tournament.
