Sitting at the summit of the Serie A standings after matchday one, FC Internazionale Milano lead a group of four teams locked on three points following this opening round of fixtures. AC Monza find themselves three points behind the early leaders, trailing the pacesetters as the table begins to take shape.
The defending champions picked up where they left off after finishing top last season with 87 points, extending a scoring streak that now stretches to 10 consecutive matches across all competitions. That attacking consistency contrasted with the visitors' recent struggles, as the away side arrived having suffered four defeats in their last five outings, including a reverse against Milan.
Recent history favoured the hosts in this fixture, with the previous meeting at this stadium ending in a 3-2 home victory back in March 2025. That result continued a head-to-head trend that had seen the Nerazzurri claim three wins and a draw from their four encounters since 2023, leaving the visitors still searching for their first victory in this matchup during that span.
Looking ahead, FC Internazionale Milano hit the road next to face Cagliari on August 30, while AC Monza return to their home turf to welcome Udinese on August 29.
