FC Barcelona extended their winning streak across all competitions to nine matches as they recorded a comfortable three-goal victory against Getafe CF on matchday 8 of the Primera Division on 10 October 2026. A. Gordon set the tone with a goal in the 2nd minute, before Gabriel Jesus added a second before the half-hour mark. J. Kounde completed the scoring in the 73rd minute with help from an assist by Lamine Yamal. Rodri earned the highest rating for the victors with a standout 9 out of 10, while Gerard Martín also impressed with an 8.2 rating.
The hosts entered the contest sitting at the summit of the table after starting the league season in formidable form, having won all seven of their opening fixtures while averaging over four goals per game. Getafe arrived with a difficult away record in the division, failing to win any of their matches on the road this term. The visitors slipped from 12th to 13th in the standings following the defeat.
Historical fixtures between the clubs offered little encouragement for the visitors, as they had failed to win any of their encounters against Barcelona since 2023, a run that included a previous 3-0 defeat in September 2025.
Barcelona will next play away at Galatasaray on 13 October, while Getafe return home to face Rayo Vallecano on 19 October.
